CONCORD, N.C. – Jeff Melton, of Concord, scored his career-first Town and Country Ford late model stock win in the 75-lap feature Saturday night at Concord Motorsport Park.

Melton is a main-stay at the track earning the 2002 limited stock track championship. He has enjoyed victory lane 28 times prior to Saturday night, with seven limited late model wins, 19 victories in the limited stock division and two wins in a street stock division that formerly raced at the track. On Saturday he drove his W.D. Wade Car & Gears/A-1 Automotive Chevy to the
win over Chuck Crump of Star. Defending champion Shane Brafford of Concord finished third with Monroe drivers Andrew Thomas and Bryan “Dude” Thomas (no relation) completing the top five.

Hoggard, the 2005 limited late model track champion, earned his 14th career win at the track and eight in the division. He bested a top-five full of Concord residents, winning over Kenny Brooks, Brian Conforth, Kenneth Cook and Bobby Measmer Jr.
Allmon, the 2006 runner-up in pure stock point, earned the ninth win of his career Saturday. He took top honors over Charles Hutto of Monroe, David Miller of Troutman, Clint Baker of Charleston, Ill., and Patty Markin of Troutman.

For Morgan, Saturday’s victory was his fourth at the track. Jake Simpson of Albemarle and Dale Kimrey of Norwood finished second and third. Hall scored his career-first win at the track over Adam Welsh and Josh Waring, both of Concord, in the thunder roadster feature.

Saturday night racing at the track features the UARA Stars 150 for the traveling late model stock teams. The fast and furious fours and redneck racers will also be in action.

NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing returns Saturday April 7 when the late model stocks will race in a 125-lap feature.
