TERRY BROOKS JR. WINS 150-LAP NASCAR FEATURE AT CONCORD

CONCORD, N.C. – Terry Brooks of Concord made his 36th career visit to victory lane Saturday night winning the 150-lap NASCAR Coca-Cola late model stock feature on Pizza Hut Kid’s Night at Concord Motorsport Park.

Other winners were: Terry Hoggard of Concord in the 35-lap Tommy Johnson’s Motorsports Warehouse limited late mode feature; Chad Allmon of Mt. Pleasant in the 25-lap Golden Gait Trailers pure stock feature; and Ben Smith of Harrisburg in the Speedway Plumbing fast and furious fours feature.

Brooks started second and took command of the race at the drop of the green flag. For the 24-year old driver it was a dominating performance as he led the entire distance and went unchallenged throughout. Bo Foust of Charlotte overcame multiple pit stops to rally back for a second-place finish. Bryan “Dude” Thomas of Monroe was third with Shane Brafford
of Concord fourth and Billy Lemmons of Salisbury completing the top five.

Kenneth Cook of Concord returned after seriously wrecking his race car last week to lead the first half of the limited late model feature. Midway through the race Hoggard made his move into the lead. He led the rest of the distance. Jeff Melton of Monroe scored a second-place finish with Ben Hinson of Kannapolis third. Mike Terry of Charlotte was fourth with Randy McAunulty of Concord fifth.

Allmon, a five-time winner last year, raced to the win in the pure stock feature. Steve Irvin of Concord and Brian Love of Mt. Pleasant finished second and third. The winner of the first two races of the season, Alton Boyd of Kannapolis finished fourth with Steve Ackerly of Monroe fifth.

Smith scored his second consecutive fast and furious fours feature over Brad Ballard of Kannapolis and opening night winner Chris Cooper of Charlotte.

Friday night legends car winners on the quarter-mile oval were: Tonya Cordrey of Concord in the pro division; John Barilka of Harrisburg in the semi-pro division; and Steven Daniels of Charlotte in the semi-pro division.

Bandolero winners Friday were: Trevor Cauble of Rockwell in the outlaw division; Nick Hoffman of St. Louis in the young guns division; Stephen Bergh Jr. of Harrisburg in the bandits division; and Landon Lewis of Fork Mountain, Va. in the beginner bandits division.
