TRAVIS SHARPE EARNS FIFTH NASCAR WIN AT CONCORD

CONCORD, N.C. (June 13, 2005) - Travis Sharpe of Swansea, S.C. continued his winning ways scoring his fifth NASCAR Coca Cola late model stock feature victory in the 100-lap event Saturday night at Concord Motorsport Park.

Other winners were: Brian Pedrick of Denver in the 35-lap Tommy Johnson's Motorsports Warehouse limited late model feature; Kenny Brooks of Concord in the 25-lap Golden Gait Trailers mini stock feature; Brandon Ward of Winston-Salem in the 25-lap Virginia mini cup feature; Chad Allmon of Mt. Pleasant in the 20-lap pure stock feature; and Bobby Measmer Jr. of Concord in the 15-lap Speedway Plumbing hornets feature.

Concord's Roger Lee Newton jumped from the second starting position to the point at the drop of the green leading the first 31 circuits in the late model stock headliner. Sharpe, who started fifth, patiently worked forward and took the top spot on lap 32.

He was never headed as he raced to his second consecutive win. Newton turned in a strong performance finishing second. Rookie campaigner John Freeman of Huntersville finished third with Buster Bennet of Monroe and Bob Saville of New London completing the top five.

Pedrick started sixth and raced forward to earn his second win of the season in the limited late model feature. Last week's winner Randy McAnulty of Concord finished second with Brian Conforth, also of Concord, third. Josh Walsh
and David Kepley, both of Concord as well, rounded out the top five.

Brooks drew the pole starting spot and raced to his fourth victory of the season. Clint Mills of Marshville finished second with David Pennell of China Grove third. Jamie Long of Monroe finished fourth and Troutman's Doug Lamp was fifth.

Ward started on the pole position and won his second mini cup feature of the season. Completing the top five were: Jerry Purdue, Willie Wines Sr., Corey Berkstresser, and Matt Wade.

Allmon started in the second spot and earned his first victory of the season in the pure stock feature. Point leader Brian Love, also of Mt. Pleasant, finished second with Concord's Steve Irvin third. David Miller of Stanfield and Michael Pierce of Charlotte finished fourth and fifth.

Bobby Measmer Jr. of Concord won his seventh hornets feature besting Ben Smith of Harrisburg.

Saturday night action returns to Concord Motorsport Park with the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series in the spotlight featuring a 100-lap late model stock feature. Also it will be Kid's Night at the track with many special attractions for younger fans including race car rides around the speedway.
